About Patricia
She is a dedicated environmental and solid waste management professional with over a decade of experience in municipal waste operations, recycling, and environmental compliance, currently serving in Solid Waste & Recycling for the City of Cedar Rapids and as Assistant Superintendent for the City of Iowa City. Prior to these roles, she served as Assistant Solid Waste Manager at the City of Durham for over 10 years, where she maintained daily operations of a large transfer station and implemented innovative techniques to support waste diversion efforts. She also served as Environmental Specialist for the City of Enid, managing stormwater compliance, landfill operations, and recycling. She holds a BS in Environmental Science Engineering from the University of Iowa, where she studied environmental chemistry, air and water pollution, and hazardous substances. She is recognized as a strategic, results-driven, and environmentally conscious leader who is deeply committed to sustainable waste management, operational excellence, and building stronger communities through effective environmental practices.
