Her Interview

Ten minutes with Patricia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to great mentorship that walked me through the process, along with my family's support as my backbone. I put in long hours and hard work, time away from family, but they pushed and supported me so I could provide for them.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I received is to believe in yourself, that you got it. My parents always told me that. Professionally, to be very detail-oriented, structured, and strategic in how I approach things, which changed my mindset.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Never give up. There's always the light at the end of the tunnel. Even if you're intimidated or afraid to speak up, don't be, because once you get out of that bubble the sky's the limit. Run with it and don't look back, you will be an amazing success to yourself, your family, and your career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include materials being out of stock which bottlenecks production, needing alternate suppliers, CMs being late causing a ripple effect, and seasonal trends in ingredients. Opportunities are that the industry is always growing with room for new innovative products like protein powders and bars, and clean green home products. It's never a dull moment and always picks back up.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Work-life balance is important. I value hard work in both personal and work life because it will get you where you want to be. I also value honesty, commitment, and fun. You have to have fun wherever you go, home or career, can't always be so serious. I try to instill that in my kids too.
