Dr. Patricia Hicks, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized organizational management consultant, keynote speaker, and author of five books and 25 publications. As the founder and owner of Outcomes Management Group, Ltd., she leverages over 30 years of experience in organizational development, strategic planning, and program evaluation to help nonprofit, government, and corporate clients achieve measurable results. Her expertise spans strategic planning, facilitation, training, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement, and she has worked with prestigious organizations including the UAW, GM HR Resources Center, Nationwide Insurance, AARP, and the National Medical Association.

Dr. Hicks began her academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Hampton University, followed by a Master’s from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology and Communications from the University of Memphis. Early in her career, she served as an instructor and assistant professor at Armstrong State University and Howard University, where she directed clinics and mentored doctoral students. She also held leadership roles in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and NovaCare, Inc., where she established best practices and quality improvement processes for thousands of rehabilitation professionals.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hicks has remained deeply committed to fostering organizational excellence, equipping boards with the right talent, and aligning stakeholders to achieve mission-driven outcomes. Her B.E.S.T. framework guides organizations in creating measurable strategies for sustainable success. Mentored by esteemed leaders such as Dr. Peg Williams, Dr. Daniel Beasley, John Foster, the late Josephine Kennedy, Lonnie & Tracy Keene, and supported by her husband, she has consistently inspired individuals and organizations to reach their highest potential through leadership, training, and transformative change initiatives.

I attribute my success to my faith and the guidance of mentors who have supported, challenged, and inspired me along the way. Their wisdom, encouragement, and belief in my potential have helped shape my growth and kept me grounded, focused, and committed to continuous improvement.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that relationships equal results. Building genuine, trusted connections opens doors, strengthens collaboration, and ultimately creates opportunities that drive long-term success.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field right now is technology. Rapid advancements require constant learning and adaptation, but they also create powerful opportunities to innovate, improve efficiency, and expand impact in ways that were not previously possible.

The value that matters most to me in both my work and personal life is giving my best. I believe in showing up with excellence, integrity, and commitment in everything I do, consistently striving to deliver my highest level of effort and intention.
