About Patricia

Patricia O’Donnell serves as Senior Transportation Supervisor at GXO Logistics, Inc., where she oversees last-mile supply chain deliveries, supervises CDL drivers, and ensures compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations while maintaining a strong focus on safe, efficient, and on-time service. She brings approximately seven years of experience in the supply chain and logistics field, having progressed from entering the industry with no prior experience to taking on leadership responsibilities across transportation, warehouse operations, production, inventory management, and reverse logistics. Her career journey also includes previous experience as a teacher and personal trainer, giving her a diverse foundation in leadership, communication, and working with people.

O’Donnell’s path to professional success is rooted in perseverance, determination, and a commitment to creating new opportunities for herself and her family. After high school, financial circumstances led her directly into the workforce. Later, as a stay-at-home mother, she returned to education with the goal of demonstrating the importance of achievement and lifelong learning to her children. She became the first person in her family to attend college and earned an A.A.S. in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from Catawba Valley Community College, followed by her pursuit of a B.S. in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management at Appalachian State University. She credits her advancement and fulfillment in supply chain to perseverance, goal-oriented thinking, and a determination to break generational patterns while keeping her family rooted in Granite Falls, North Carolina.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, O’Donnell is committed to serving her community and supporting those who have served their country. For approximately five years, she has volunteered with Foothills Veteran Stand Down, supporting efforts to assist homeless veterans. She has also participated in fundraisers through the Combat Veteran Motorcycle Association to support Gold Star families. Her professional strengths include transportation operations, driver supervision, safety and regulatory compliance, inventory management, reverse logistics, process improvement, KPI development, SOP development, and team leadership. Through both her career and community involvement, O’Donnell demonstrates a strong commitment to perseverance, service, personal growth, and creating a positive example for the next generation.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Patricia

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from sheer perseverance and wanting to break the cycle in my family's history. My mom didn't raise a quitter, and I'm a goal-oriented person who needs something to reach for to stay motivated. I keep going for my kids and to create a different future.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Take the chance on trying something different. It's shocking how fulfilling something I never even knew existed has been for me. Take the leap in a new direction, even if it means veering from a path where you have a strong reputation.
