Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to several variables: a supportive family; excellent education; and very good Mentors along the way. But I realize that these alone won't give success. I believe it is my motivation, persistence, courage entering into careers that were typically for males (esp. in the 70's and 80's); and refusing to accept obstacles and instead pushed through them. Courage, Persistence and Compassion are my three guideposts. My expertise arises from my education, decades of experience, and a strong will to help people. I love helping women grow in their passion and purpose.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't ever give up. Discover your passion and purpose and go for it, without letting anyone dissuade you. There is nothing better than doing what you love, knowing you are making an impact.

Q

Coaching and consulting are wonderful fields, just make sure you take accredited programs and get certification. It will take marketing and either opening your own business or finding institutions that hire coaches.

Challenges are having to understand marketing and sales and finding institutions that hire coaches. Opportunities to start your own business are wide open, though understand there is a lot of competition. But you have gifts that no one else does.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values are compassion to all you meet and work with, integrity, being authentic and open.
