About Patricija
Patricija Corey works in legal operations, where she focuses on people, process, and technology to make legal work easier for attorneys. After returning from her Fulbright scholarship teaching English as a second language in Latvia, where her grandmother is from, she pursued roles in-house that led her to realize her strengths lay in operations rather than practicing law. Much of her expertise is self-taught, beginning with a paralegal role where she was tasked with implementing a contract lifecycle management system. Corey builds community through LinkedIn, speaking at webinars and events, and writing. She is a co-host of the Boston chapter and authors a monthly column titled Beyond the Fine Print for Contract Nerds, emphasizing that legal operations should be seen as human and accessible rather than purely technical. She continues to view herself as a teacher, training attorneys on technology and AI.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Take things step by step and be reflective and introspective. When creating a new process, step back to understand the humans involved, don't rush to buy technology, and include people along the journey.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't try to fix everything or be Mrs. Fix-It all the time. Take a step back, map out people and processes, figure out the best way forward, and don't think everything is your responsibility. Include others early to avoid burnout and ineffective processes.
