About Patty

Patty Almaraz has been working in paralegal services for 25 years. Right out of high school she attended Brightcliff College, where she earned an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegals, and began working for a lawyer before climbing the ladder at multiple firms and eventually opening her own office. Her practice covers family court, criminal court, immigration court, personal injury, and car accident matters. She recently became Chief Campaign Manager for Suffolk Dems. Almaraz volunteers at her church and served as an activist in her community and Nassau County for 20 years. She attributes her success to her grandmother, parents, and ministry, which drive her to help communities throughout Long Island and the five boroughs. Almaraz values treating every client as she would want to be treated, a principle rooted in her spirituality and nearly two decades of faithful church involvement. She advises walking in a straight line because reputation is everything and encourages young women entering the field to never give up, remain persistent, and be obedient.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I believe is my grandmother and my parents in my ministry that has me keep going, keep helping my community, not only in Long Island, but also in the five boroughs.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Basically, just walk in a straight line. Your reputation is everything. It goes down to everything you do.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To never give up, to be persistent, and obedient.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I don't face challenges in my career in like industry, because everybody calls me when they need some help, any legal way. There's always room to keep growing.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Personal life being a righteous, faithful individual in my church for almost two decades. My values for work is basically it goes hand in hand with my spirituality. Just treating every person, every client, like I would want to be treated.
