Her Story
About Paula
Paula Rummels is an AI content creator and higher education professional with nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, particularly in recruitment and student engagement. Drawing on her experience working with thousands of students and her passion for storytelling, she created The Admissions Team, an AI-generated drama series on YouTube that explores compelling, relatable stories inspired by personal experiences, observations, and the realities people face in their personal and professional lives. Her background also includes writing screenplays, several of which have placed in competitions, and she holds a master’s degree in screenwriting that has helped shape her creative work. Following a layoff in January, Paula saw an opportunity to build something entirely her own and bring together her professional knowledge, creativity, and life experiences. She is particularly proud of completing two master’s degree programs while navigating significant personal challenges, including family losses during her studies. Before pursuing her creative venture, Paula also served as an elected school board member for four years and contributed to community organizations and initiatives, including the Chamber and School Community Task Force. Her work reflects her belief in education, preparation, resilience, and the importance of building skills that allow individuals to remain independent and adaptable throughout life. Paula credits her success to hard work, consistency, and the strong emphasis on education instilled by her parents. She values honesty, trustworthiness, integrity, and being authentic in both her professional and personal relationships. Her experiences in higher education have also shaped her philosophy of encouraging people to pursue careers that genuinely make them happy rather than simply following expectations placed upon them. As she continues developing The Admissions Team, pursuing management opportunities, and exploring ways to bring her screenplays to a wider audience, Paula remains committed to using storytelling to highlight real-life experiences, meaningful challenges, and lessons that can resonate with audiences from many different backgrounds.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Paula
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work, consistency, and the strong foundation my parents gave me, especially their emphasis on education. My education has opened countless doors, from higher education to opportunities in AI-generated content, and has been instrumental in shaping my career and achievements.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to be honest with themselves and pursue a career that genuinely makes them smile. Educate yourself, build strong skills, and prepare for your independence, regardless of what the future brings. Most importantly, do what you love rather than what you feel forced to do.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is getting your work noticed in a crowded field, but that also creates opportunities to reach the right audience. I believe in putting your work out there, sharing your content, and being willing to ask for a chance. Sometimes, all it takes is for the right person to see what you can do and recognize your potential.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity are the values I hold most important in both my work and personal life. I believe in being consistent and authentic—being the same person in front of others as I am when they are not around.
