About Paulomi

I'm currently working as a Senior Compliance Analyst at NASDAQ. Throughout my career, I have worked in several companies including Citco and Western Union, focusing on hedge funds, compliance, and regulatory work. My positions were based in Europe, and I recently moved to New York after getting engaged, so I'm now looking for positions available in the US. I've been in my field for more than 6 years. I did my bachelor's degree back in India, which was a dual degree in legal and corporate, and then completed my master's in international business law in Europe. After my master's, I did a couple of internships and worked as a trainer in some legal practices and companies. Then I got my first job after graduation and continued from one position to another. What I'm most proud of is being a self-made woman - all the jobs that I have got are all by myself. I had not been referred by anybody. I applied myself with all my experiences and degrees. I think that's an achievement that I have done it for myself.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say where I am right now as a self-made woman is my greatest achievement. All the jobs that I have got are all by myself. I had not been referred by anybody. I applied myself with all my experiences and degrees. I think I got it - I done it all myself. That's an achievement that I have done it for myself. I used to check LinkedIn and go through the profiles of senior people and see what they did. That used to motivate me to do better in life. That's how I saw myself growing.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say you have to be motivated every day, and you have to have the intention of learning. You must not think like if you're not seeing results again, you should always keep trying. Every day you are learning something or the other. Every day is something you're learning from your own mistake or your experience, and that's how you can grow in your profile or whatever profession you are choosing to acquire.
