About Pavlina

Pavlina Vargé is Dowbuilt’s Senior Service Manager for California. She oversees luxury residential service operations, estate care, and special projects across the state. In this leadership role, she manages the full lifecycle of client relationships, partnering with homeowners, architects, interior designers, consultants, vendors, and field teams to deliver seamless, high-touch service for architecturally significant properties. Her work focuses on operational excellence, relationship management, quality control, and preserving the design integrity and craftsmanship of exceptional residential estates. Originally from Bulgaria, Pavlina moved to the United States in 2005 to pursue her passion for architecture at University of California, Los Angeles, earning her degree in Architectural Studies. She began her career in the architectural field shortly before 2009 and gained extensive experience managing high-end residential and commercial projects through all phases of design and execution. Before joining Dowbuilt, she spent eight years at Dorothy Macik Design, a Los Angeles boutique design firm, where she developed expertise in project coordination, client relationships, architectural design, and collaborative problem-solving. While working full time, Pavlina completed her Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Innovation at Loyola Marymount University, expanding her knowledge of innovation, sustainability, and strategic leadership. She attributes her success to perseverance, resilience, dedication, and persistence, along with the mentorship and support of the many accomplished women who have guided her throughout her career. As an advocate for women in the traditionally male-dominated architecture and construction industries, Pavlina encourages emerging professionals to be bold, pursue creative opportunities, embrace hands-on experiences, and recognize the lasting value of human connection, collaboration, and craftsmanship in shaping the future of the built environment.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received has come from the incredible women who have shaped my personal and professional journey. I begin with my mother and maternal grandmother, whose wisdom, strength, and values provided the foundation that continues to guide me as a leader, professional, and mother. I have also learned some of my greatest lessons from my daughters, who have taught me the importance of patience, resilience, curiosity, and embracing new perspectives. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work alongside and learn from many talented women who have offered mentorship, encouragement, and invaluable guidance. These relationships have shaped the way I approach leadership, collaboration, and challenges, reminding me that mentorship is one of the most powerful tools for growth. The lessons and support I have received throughout my journey inspire me to continue building a legacy of connection, generosity, and empowerment by supporting and uplifting others.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the architecture and construction industry is to be bold, confident, and persistent. Do not be afraid to knock on doors, create opportunities for yourself, and continue moving forward even when faced with challenges or setbacks. In this traditionally male-dominated field, it is important to recognize the value of your unique perspective, creativity, and expertise. I encourage anyone with a passion for creating and building to embrace that curiosity, pursue hands-on experiences, and trust their ability to make an impact. While technology continues to evolve, the human touch, creativity, and personal connection remain irreplaceable.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest opportunities in my field is the ability to create meaningful change by inspiring others and contributing to the continued evolution of the architecture and construction industry. Throughout my career, I have learned that challenges are opportunities for growth, strengthening my resilience, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement. I am grateful for the mentors, colleagues, and leaders who have supported and guided me along the way, as their encouragement has reinforced the importance of community and collaboration. I believe the future of this industry depends on individuals who are willing to embrace innovation, challenge expectations, and create opportunities for others. By sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and lifting others up, we can continue to shape a stronger, more inclusive industry for future generations.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are hard work, perseverance, and consistency. I have always been someone who is dedicated and willing to put in the effort required to achieve my goals. I consider myself an athlete, and the discipline, commitment, and consistency required in my fitness journey have greatly shaped who I am as a person and a professional. The mindset of showing up, staying focused, and continuously improving translates into every aspect of my life, from leadership and relationships to overcoming challenges and pursuing long-term success.
