She began her career with internships including a media marketing role at The Plug, a digital media internship at Equinix, and a paid media internship at The Team on the Pokemon account, which sparked her passion for the field. She later worked at Hearts and Science on the Warner Brothers account, where she built programmatic campaigns and contributed to successful movie releases, including those that won Oscars in 2025. In college she was active in Alpha Kappa Psi, which helped develop her professional skills, and she has volunteered with the Red Cross for two and a half years. She attributes her success to her first-generation parents, who built their restaurant business through hard work, and to her managers who mentored her in media. Pearl values growth and learning in her work and compassion and kindness in her personal life, and she advises young women entering the industry to advocate for themselves and stand out.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Pearl
01What do you attribute your success to?
My parents, who are first generation and worked hard to build their empire from long hours in restaurants, inspiring me to retire them. Also all my managers who introduced me to media and taught me the technical side.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
It takes time. When I first got into corporate America I was eager to know everything quickly, but my manager said I've been doing this for 5-6 years, you have to ask questions and keep doing things repetitively. I became above average by asking questions, doing the work, and doing extra work. It's okay to sit down, observe, and shadow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be scared to stand out. I was scared to raise my hand in meetings or voice opinions, but your voice truly matters. No one will know what you're thinking if you don't advocate for yourself. Raise your hand and speak out.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenge: At bigger agencies it's harder to get your name out there and stand out because many people work on the same account. Opportunity: There are always media roles open depending on skill level, and agencies often have child agencies which are higher up, so opportunities exist even if it takes time.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In life: compassion and kindness. My parents taught me you don't know what someone's going through, so be kind rather than nasty back. Be grateful for people in your life and give back. In work: growth and learning. I don't like feeling stagnant, so I always want to be growing by asking to learn new things.
