Her Interview

Ten minutes with Pearlie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my relationship with God. My faith provides the foundation that guides my behavior, decisions, and lifestyle. I also draw inspiration from my grandmother, who had Alzheimer's disease. She created a non-judgmental space where people could talk and feel heard, and that experience significantly influenced my desire to enter a field centered on caring for and supporting others.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to never allow anything to completely take away from my purpose. That perspective has shaped the way I approach my career and has encouraged me to remain grounded and committed to what I am called to do, regardless of the circumstances or distractions I encounter.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my field is to never give up on themselves. Know who you are, continue growing, and do not allow obstacles or difficult circumstances to convince you that you cannot move forward. Stay committed to your personal development and continue believing in your ability to grow and accomplish your goals.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is maintaining focus in an environment filled with distractions, particularly through social media and reactions within the community. It is important to remain focused on the purpose and responsibilities of the work rather than allowing outside distractions or opinions to interfere with that mission.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me are love, compassion, trustworthiness, and confidence. I believe these qualities are essential when serving and supporting others, and they guide how I interact with people both professionally and personally.
