Her Interview

Ten minutes with Peg

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think you could say that it was a belief in something greater than myself, and God gave me the faith to keep reaching out and going beyond boundaries that I had set for myself, that I realized that were too small, that God has much bigger plans for me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

On my mother's dying bed when she was dying, the last word she spoke to me is, never put your flute down, never put music down.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be open to everything around you, because the music industry is changing so much. Be open to maybe not only your dreams, but to things beyond your dreams, to think bigger than what you could ever think. Think global. Think universal.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

We have a very interesting situation in the music industry right now. We're facing a lot of change, especially when it comes to AI, intelligence, and how do we work with AI? AI is not going away. So, right now, we're in the gray stage. Nothing is completely defined, but I say we are defined when we think of who we are and what our heart and our soul tells us to do. And it means creating our own work, not letting a machine dictate how we live our life, and maybe the computerized intelligence can help us but not create for us.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, honesty, positive attitude, listening, still with God.
