Her Interview
Ten minutes with Peggy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God and His guidance throughout my life and career. During one of the most challenging periods of my life, I believe God gave me a clear direction when I was instructed to simply write a letter, an act that ultimately became a pathway to my freedom and a turning point in my life. That experience strengthened my faith and shaped my purpose as a writer. I continue to credit God for guiding me from that pivotal moment to founding Write Now Publishing Company in 2007 and for providing the vision, strength, and opportunities that have allowed me to help others share their stories and fulfill their purpose.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received came from my parents, Dorothy and Samuel Nimmers, who taught me the importance of integrity, respect, character, and believing in my own potential. My mother showed me that true success is rooted in being a good person and treating others honorably, while my father encouraged me from an early age to believe that I could achieve anything I set my mind to. Those lessons gave me the confidence to pursue journalism even without formal training, trust my natural abilities, and embrace opportunities that aligned with my purpose. I have also been inspired by thinkers such as Napoleon Hill and the principles in Think and Grow Rich, particularly the belief that knowledge and ideas can create a lasting legacy. Throughout my career, I have learned to follow my passion, remain open to guidance, persevere through challenges, and trust the gifts and vision God has given me.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the writing and publishing industry is to press through and write your story anyway. Do not allow fear, self-doubt, or uncertainty to prevent you from sharing your knowledge and experiences. There is an incredible sense of accomplishment that comes with holding your published book in your hands and realizing that your voice and expertise are now available to others. Your book can establish you as an authority, open doors to new opportunities, and provide lasting value to those who read it. Keep your message in front of people, continue learning and growing, and understand that sharing your story can transform not only the lives of others, but your own as well.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges and opportunities in my field are closely connected. Many aspiring authors struggle with finding their voice, overcoming self-doubt, and believing that their knowledge and experiences are valuable enough to share. I understand those challenges personally, having built my career in journalism and publishing without formal training, and I learned that determination, a willingness to learn, mentorship, and faith can open doors that traditional paths may not. When I founded Write Now Publishing Company in 2007, I recognized a tremendous opportunity to help busy entrepreneurs, professionals, executives, and thought leaders transform their expertise and experiences into books. Today, I see publishing as an opportunity to go beyond the book itself by helping authors build credibility, expand their influence, create new opportunities, and develop resources such as workbooks, journals, workshops, and coaching programs. Ultimately, I believe the greatest opportunity is helping people recognize the value of their stories and turn their experiences into messages that can educate, inspire, and transform others.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are love, integrity, trust, and excellence. I believe in loving and accepting people where they are, regardless of what they may be experiencing or going through. Integrity is equally important to me because I want people to know that they can trust me, depend on my word, and have confidence in my character. I also believe in consistently striving to be the best version of myself, giving my best effort, serving others with genuine care, and maintaining high standards in everything I do.
