Her Story
About Penny
Penny Davis serves as a project manager for Dollar General, managing remodel projects throughout the southern states. She began her professional journey in real estate in 2002 at First Realty in Cookeville, Tennessee, after being encouraged by a mentor during a home purchase. Following the market crash of 2007-2008, she transitioned into the corporate sector, working first in the construction department at Tractor Supply building new stores and later joining Dollar General. In her current role, Davis maintains long workdays of 12 to 15 hours, collaborating with contractors, vendors, store teams, and municipalities on permitting and codes while striving to keep projects on budget, on scope, and of high quality. She emphasizes servant leadership and listening to the needs of others, a philosophy she carried from real estate sales into construction. Davis is an active member of the Project Management Institute Nashville chapter, which she joined last year. She also dedicates time to volunteering with a local homeless shelter, Habitat for Humanity, and Dollar General supported efforts including food banks, book drives, and clothing drives.
