Her Interview

Ten minutes with Percilla

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, perseverance, and the ability to provide my family with a comfortable life. My daughter has been my biggest supporter throughout my career. Growing up in a family of six with very limited resources, I became the only college graduate who received a Master’s degree through determination and dedication. These experiences have kept me humble and grounded while motivating me to continue striving for excellence.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to never stop pursuing my goals. Staying focused, persistent, and committed to my vision has helped me overcome challenges and continue moving forward.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to never stop learning, growing, and pursuing new opportunities. Don’t become complacent simply because you are earning a good income; if you aspire to achieve more, continue your education, develop your skills, and never stop striving for success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in healthcare is retaining staff when traveling professionals can earn significantly higher pay. I advocate for my team and work to secure fair compensation and compromises that support retention. I’m proud that we are now fully staffed without relying on travelers.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Creativity, learning, family, and personal growth are important to me. I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren through crafts, drawing, coloring, and reading, while also challenging myself to learn new skills, such as refurbishing and creating things.
