Her Interview

Ten minutes with Philomena

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to purpose, passion, and people. What initially may have looked like a mistake in my journey became something much greater, a divine calling. My mission has always been rooted in helping others the same way people once helped my parents.

As immigrants and entrepreneurs, my parents worked tirelessly to provide for our family. They ensured I had opportunities, a quality education, a roof over our heads, and food on the table. It wasn’t until I became an adult and entrepreneur myself that I truly understood the sacrifices they made behind the scenes.

That realization became my inspiration. My success is driven by my desire to pour into others, encourage entrepreneurs, and help people reach milestones they once thought were impossible. I genuinely love seeing people win. Whether someone is a client, business partner, or simply someone pursuing a dream, I find joy in cheering them on and celebrating their growth. In many ways, being called “the entrepreneur’s cheerleader” is one of the greatest compliments I could receive because uplifting others is at the heart of everything I do. I love seeing people win!

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from mentors who encouraged me to embrace challenges, essentially saying, “If you’re up for the challenge, here it is.” Their guidance taught me to accept responsibility, step into opportunities, and grow beyond what I initially thought possible.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to support and uplift each other; be a cheerleader for your peers and celebrate their milestones as you grow together.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges and opportunities in my field stem from the rapid evolution of technology and media, including AI and behavioral targeting, which require entrepreneurs and brands to continuously adapt their personal branding and marketing strategies to stay relevant and effective.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My motto is Faith, Family, and Food. Every morning starts with faith. I go into my corner office and read from a book called Starting Your Day Right by Joyce Meyer. Every day, there's one page, just enough to keep you in your right state of mind, faithfully obedient, and a word of encouragement for your day. My prayer is simple: who do I meet today and make an impact?

My team is more of a family, so the first 15 to 20 minutes of our meeting is just really catching up for the day, asking how's everything going, how's mom and dad, what could we do better.

At the end of my day, I look at my desk and say, okay, we did what we could. I don't beat myself up if I didn't hit everything on my to-do list. The forward momentum is okay, we did what we could, we did it to our best abilities, and we did make an impact on someone today. After we log off, we go have family time. That's what it's all about.
