Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of curiosity, persistence, and a commitment to helping others navigate complex financial decisions. I didn’t begin my career intending to become a tax consultant, but I have always believed that numbers tell stories and that the right strategy can change outcomes. Starting in analytical roles eventually led me to managing H&R Block offices, where I saw firsthand how deeply taxes affect people’s lives, businesses, and futures—an experience that changed everything.

Over time, I realized I wanted to do more than prepare returns; I wanted to advise, educate, and advocate. Transitioning fully into tax consulting, I work closely with high-earning individuals and business owners who need more than compliance—they need strategy. Earning my Enrolled Agent credential was a defining milestone, giving me the authority to represent clients before the IRS and solidifying my commitment to legally and ethically minimizing tax liability.

At the core of my work is education. Many clients arrive with misconceptions about taxes, and one of the most rewarding aspects of my job is replacing confusion with clarity. I’ve helped clients save significant amounts through entity restructuring, alternative tax strategies, and by leveraging tools that are often overlooked. Beyond numbers, I empower clients—helping them protect their futures, make informed decisions, and approach taxes with confidence.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from a mentor who was refreshingly direct: to earn at a higher level, you sometimes have to step into roles traditionally dominated by men—and perform exceptionally well. My educational background, including an undergraduate degree in business marketing and an MBA, reinforced that advice. While an advanced degree isn’t strictly required in my field, it played a pivotal role in my growth by strengthening my credibility, expanding my network, and giving me the confidence to take on challenging roles and exceed expectations.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the tax industry is straightforward: you don’t always need a degree to start, but you do need education, integrity, and commitment. Obtain your PTIN, take reputable tax courses, and never stop learning. Credentials can open doors, but your results and the trust you build with clients will define your reputation.

The tax industry is evolving quickly, with AI taking on much of the technical work. But technology can’t replace human judgment, strategic thinking, or the trust that forms the foundation of client relationships. I believe the future of tax consulting belongs to professionals who embrace innovation while staying grounded in meaningful human connection.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is helping clients navigate misconceptions about taxes—often information they’ve picked up from a family member, neighbor, or online source that isn’t accurate. My role is to educate clients so they understand strategies tailored to their specific situation, rather than relying on generalized or incorrect advice. Turning confusion into clarity not only helps clients save money but also builds trust and confidence in the decisions they make.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me, both professionally and personally, are growth, curiosity, and continuous learning. I believe in investing in myself through ongoing education and professional development, staying adaptable, and embracing new challenges. This commitment to lifelong learning not only strengthens my skills but also enables me to provide better guidance, insight, and support to those I work with.
