I attribute my success to my tenacity and drive. I’m relentless in pursuing my goals and maintain a high level of organization and commitment, ensuring that I/we accomplish goals efficiently and effectively. This perseverance and focus have been key to my success.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to be authentic and not dwell on what I haven’t accomplished. Instead, I focus on what each experience has taught me and use those lessons to keep moving forward. Learning to embrace my true self and learning from every situation empowers me to keep moving and grow in work and life.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering any industry is to take the time to learn and understand the processes involved, rather than solely focusing on achieving your end result.. However, always stay focused on your end goal.
Embracing the journey and gaining hands-on experience is crucial, as you can't effectively lead in an area that you haven't truly experienced. Again, stay focused on your end goals. Build a strong foundation by enhancing your skills and exploring all facets of your industry and create a network.
In the realm of HR, I encourage you to delve into the various aspects of the field to discover what genuinely ignites your passion. It's a difficult field with many components and complexities, so you need to understand and love it. Again, stay focused.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
In the world of HR, there are always opportunities, but recognizing them requires an open mindset. You need to have good people instinctive skills in order to listen, watch and learn.
One of the biggest challenges is balancing strategic goals with the day-to-day workplace demands. It's essential to have an inituitive understanding of diverse personalities and generational difference among team members. Navigating the complexities of remote versus hybrid work and effectively attracting and retaining top talent for your specific industry are ongoing challenges.
Ultimately, you often serve as a voice for your organiztion, even if your ideas are not always the ones selected.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are authenticity, honesty, and taking responsibility. Being true to myself and demonstrating integrity in everything that I do is fundamental.
Ultimately, I am the one who shapes my surrounding and chooses the people I spend my time with. While differences of thought are valued, a better cohesiveness is when we are more aligned. Therefore, together, we can aspire and lift each other in a shared journey.
