01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to God first and foremost and for those who have paved the way for Black women in Social Work. As well as to my husband and family for the constant support in my endeavors.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Always be yourself, advocate for yourself and those you serve. Make a lasting impression and keep God first.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The social work industry is for people who are considerate, passionate and empathetic. Keep those things in mind when entering this industry.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I would say that the biggest challenge right now are all of the changes within the government. Several vulnerable populations are being affected by the changes and these are the populations we serve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, trustworthiness, hard work and dedication. Determination, empathy and compassion.
