About Phyllis
Phyllis Harrington is a minister and author who also continues to work as a real estate broker and instructor. Her professional journey began with a career in real estate before she felt called to ministry, which in turn led her to write books that inspire women and children. She founded Break the Silence, Speak Out America, an organization dedicated to preventing and stopping abuse to children. Harrington earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in divinity, and she is currently pursuing a PhD in Christian Education and Leadership. She volunteers extensively as a PTA grandmother at her grandchildren's school. Harrington attributes her success to her faith in God and encourages others to walk in their calling with faith over fear, noting that one is never too old to pursue further education.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My belief, my faith in God. I believe he's the only one that could have gotten me here to where I'm at, because it's not man or woman, it's only the supernatural.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Faith over fear. Don't be afraid to step in to wherever you're called to do. As long as you have your faith, you will be successful in whatever you go after. And also, you're never too old to go back and get your education.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid. When you have your calling, when God has called you, do not be afraid. Walk into your calling, no matter what people say. Just keep walking. Even without seeing the steps that you're stepping into, just keep walking.
