What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion for teaching and coaching, grounded in faith. I strive to live the lessons I share, gaining knowledge through both study and real-world experience so I can guide others authentically. My work is driven by a corrective love that uplifts and challenges, along with patience and virtue, honoring that people must make their own choices. Life’s challenges and missteps have shaped the wisdom I bring today, allowing me to work with integrity, purpose, and wholehearted commitment.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is, “You have to love it to live it.” I share this often in my teaching because it’s true in every aspect of work and life—you can’t serve others authentically if you aren’t fully invested in what you do. Loving your work allows you to show up genuinely and make a real impact.
Another piece of guidance came from a manager during my contract work, who said, “Phyllis, you’re built to create your own company. That’s your path.” That encouragement, combined with my faith, helped guide me toward entrepreneurship and the work I do today.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to first know yourself and your truth. Teach and coach from your authentic experience, not for money, but to make a real impact. When your work comes from integrity and love, it creates meaningful results for both you and those you serve.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field is accessibility—those who could benefit most from higher-level guidance often can’t afford traditional fees. Charging $500 or $1,500 per session can exclude the people who need the support the most. That’s why I work on a donation-based model: I want everyone to have the opportunity to access the tools and guidance that can help them heal, grow, and redirect destructive patterns in their lives. True service means removing barriers so people can receive what they need, regardless of financial means.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both work and life are truth and authenticity. I coach and lead from a place of personal growth and lived experience, ensuring that what I share is genuine and grounded. I also value a greater, corrective love—one that guides and challenges rather than simply comforts.
Patience and virtue are essential as well. People must make their own choices in their own time, and I approach that process with understanding, encouragement, and joy. My work is rooted in both care and faith, helping others grow while celebrating each step of their journey.
