Phyllis Tess, GLP, CHSE, is a seasoned leader in the global hospitality and business travel industry with more than 30 years of experience driving strategic partnerships, hotel sourcing, and client-centered solutions. As Founder and CVO of Purple Cow Consulting, she leverages her deep expertise in global account management, project leadership, and travel program strategy to help organizations achieve long-term success. Known for her “return on relationship” philosophy, Phyllis has built a reputation as a trusted collaborator who combines creativity, innovation, and strong negotiation skills to deliver measurable impact.
Prior to launching Purple Cow Consulting, Phyllis spent over a decade with Best Western Hotels & Resorts, where she led global business travel sales, developed SOPs for Project & Emergency Response and managed enterprise-level client relationships across industries. Her leadership extends beyond corporate roles, serving as Executive Director for the Travel & Meeting Society (TAMS) and contributing her expertise to boards and organizations including NEBTA, HSMAI, GBTA, WINIT, Women In Travel & Rotary International. A passionate mentor and coach, Phyllis is committed to fostering growth in others and advancing opportunities for women in the travel sector.
