Her Story
About Pia
I've been in the healthcare field for over 20 years, working in sales of over-the-counter consumer goods. I'm currently the sales director for the Bayer Walgreens business at Bayer Consumer Health, where I've been since 2020. Prior to joining Bayer, I worked for Mars for 16 years in various roles spanning marketing, sales, and commercial strategy. In my current role, my key responsibilities include ensuring we hit our annual targets, managing the financial P&L of the business, team development and individual professional development for my team, partnership and collaboration with Walgreens and their buying team, and growing market share for our brands. One of the challenges we face is finding new ways for our brands to correlate to the trends in the healthcare industry, and finding new opportunities and new users for our brands based on current trends in the market for better healthcare. We're fortunate to have a team, great data and insights to reference and learn from, and great brands with high efficacy and science-backed credentials and studies.

Ten minutes with Pia
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
To be open to new ideas and learning as you go, and understanding that as you make decisions, there's always going to be a new decision to make. Be comfortable making decisions and know that you can always learn from them and move forward if they weren't the right ones. You can learn from them and realize you've opened up a new opportunity, so don't be afraid to make decisions.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Some of the challenges are finding new ways for our brands to correlate to the trends in the healthcare industry. Strong brands exist, but the trends in healthcare are changing, and it's about finding new opportunities and new users for our brands based on some of the current trends in the market for better healthcare. The opportunity is that it continuously changes, so there's always something new to be learning, whether it's new technology, new shopping behaviors, new brands launching, or new trends. You can stay curious and continue to learn.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I would say trust and teamwork are usually some of the keys, along with commitment to the business. From a principles standpoint, I would say mutuality is most important to me.
