About Pier

I am a curator, educator, and program manager with nearly two decades of experience leading innovative arts and education initiatives. At the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, I design and implement K-12 STEAM programs, mentor student interns, and develop international comparative arts workshops that connect youth with African artistic traditions.

My work extends to consulting and project management roles with institutions such as the Kennedy Center and the Library of Congress, where I create programs that explore cross-cultural understanding, creative writing, and visual storytelling. I also founded Culture at Home, an African American homeschool support network, dedicated to providing culturally relevant educational opportunities for families in the DC metro area.

I am passionate about leveraging art and education to inspire young people, build community partnerships, and foster inclusive learning experiences that empower students to see themselves as creators, thinkers, and leaders.
