Her Story

About Porsha

Porsha Williams is a multifaceted entrepreneur based in Sacramento, California, at 16 Restoration Court C. With more than 15 years of experience in the events and services world, she founded Good Time Party Rentals about 10 years ago, providing one-stop shop services including event coordination, catering, and entertainment for corporate events, children's birthday parties, and community gatherings. She throws at least three community events annually, such as Boo Fest for Halloween and Easter events, to bring families together in safe environments with activities, food, and learning opportunities. In 2018, Williams obtained her life insurance license after two attempts, driven by her foster care background and a desire to educate her community on its importance, and she also works as a travel agent. She holds administrative assisting certificates from vocational training and is currently a student at Consumers River College pursuing an associate's degree in business. Additionally, she serves as marketing director for Lucy's Tree of Life, a nonprofit in Oakland, California, assisting with event coordination, promotions, and secretarial work. Williams states that her success comes from being of service and helping people, whether by supporting families, creating memories for children, or teaching others.

Ten minutes with Porsha

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from being of service and helping people. Even though money is the goal, that's not necessarily where my success lies. I feel successful if I can help a family or if I've helped a little kid create a memory or if I teach something. That's what pushes me to succeed.
