Her Interview

Ten minutes with Pradnya

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, continuous learning, and adaptability throughout my 21+ year career in technology. With a strong foundation in Computer Science from India and a master’s degree from Utah State University, I’ve grown through roles at Singular Wireless (later AT&T), InterContinental Hotels Group, Randstad Staffing, and Nielsen, where I advanced into a director role leading global teams. A key milestone was successfully driving a long-stalled legacy system migration at Nielsen, which required resilience and strategic execution. Today at Paramount, I continue to apply these strengths by building a team from the ground up and leading data and AI-driven initiatives.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that success is built through consistent hard work, dedication, and a willingness to take on challenges that stretch your capabilities. Early in my career, I learned that growth comes from stepping into complex problems, staying accountable, and continuously improving both technical and leadership skills. This mindset guided me as I progressed into senior leadership roles, eventually becoming a Director leading multiple engineering teams. It also helped me take on major transformation initiatives, including driving the transition of key technology operations at Nielsen to India, and later joining Paramount, where I had the opportunity to build a team from the ground up and now lead a group of engineers focused on data platforms and emerging AI initiatives.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering the technology industry is to stay confident in your abilities, remain curious, and not be afraid to take up space in rooms where decisions are being made. Early in your career, it can feel challenging to navigate complex technical environments or leadership structures, but consistent learning, resilience, and a willingness to ask questions will help you grow and excel over time. Building strong mentors and support networks is also essential, as they provide guidance, perspective, and encouragement throughout your journey. I also strongly believe in giving back mentoring others and volunteering in the community has been a meaningful part of my own career, and it is important to lift as you climb and help create opportunities for the next generation of women in technology.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges and opportunities in today’s technology landscape center around the rapid pace of innovation, particularly in AI-driven development, cloud modernization, and scalable data platforms. Organizations are under increasing pressure to modernize legacy systems, strengthen data governance, and deliver real-time, intelligent solutions while maintaining security, cost efficiency, and operational stability. At the same time, there is a growing need to attract, develop, and retain strong engineering talent capable of adapting to these evolving technologies and delivering at scale. For someone in a leadership role with over 20 years of experience, this moment also presents a meaningful opportunity to expand influence beyond delivery execution by shaping engineering culture, driving strategic transformation, and building a personal brand as a thought leader in data and AI innovation while continuing to lead impactful teams and enterprise-wide initiatives.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are perseverance, adaptability, and continuous growth. Having been born and raised in India, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science before making the courageous decision to move to the United States to pursue my master’s degree at Utah State University. That transition required resilience, discipline, and a willingness to adapt to a new culture and environment, which ultimately strengthened my personal and professional foundation and shaped my success in the field of technology. I also value balance and fulfillment outside of work, including maintaining an active lifestyle, expressing creativity through painting, and dedicating time to mentoring young women in technology to help them grow with confidence and purpose in their careers.
