About Pragati
Pragati Sikarwar is a QA Automation Testing Lead with 8 years of experience in the IT industry. She specializes in automation testing, designing hybrid automation testing frameworks, and testing software while leading a testing team responsible for task assignment, framework design, client requirement gathering, and management meetings. Pragati began her career in software testing at Accenture, moved to another software testing role, and later took on a leading role at Persistent System. Currently based in Edison, New Jersey, she is not working but is pursuing a bachelor's degree in data science and AI in the USA, with plans to resume her career in the same industry upon obtaining a work visa. She earned her BTech and MTech from Amiti University and Gautam Buddh Technical University in India, achieving first division throughout. Pragati attributes her success to a willingness to embrace changes and continuous learning, values integrity, collaboration, empathy, and resilience in her work, and advises young women entering technology to believe in themselves, stay curious, and never stop learning. She has participated in AI-related events and co-curricular activities at the Edison New Jersey Library.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My main attribute of my success is basically willingness to embrace the changes. I am the person who can adopt any environment and any circumstances easily. These continuous learning and the willingness to embrace the changes, that I think these are the main attributes of my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The career advice I received is basically continue learning, and be focused, and be disciplined about your studies, and about your career, and if you're focused, you can achieve everything. So just be grounded and keep trying to achieve higher goals.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
One advice to the young women entering into the technology industry would be believe in themselves, and stay curious, and try to learn new things, never stop learning. Technology is a field that changes constantly. It is important to be adopted to the new things, new changes, and being open to learning new skills. Every expert once was a beginner, so if you focus and keep on learning, then you will achieve greater.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my industry is keeping the pace with the rapid evolution in the technology because of the AI and everything is moving fast forward. To understand the business and the improvement of the testing strategies and the modern tools is very important. In the future it is about combining AI abilities with the human creativity and critical thinking. Having the domain knowledge and upgrading oneself is very important.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
On personal level and professionally, I would say the integrity, continuous learning, collaboration, empathy with others, and resilience. Being honest and accountable of your work, how you deliver your work, and just meeting with all the standards of doing your work. Even no one is watching you, you're doing honestly your work. That is the foundation of everything. Continuous learning, resilience and empathy is all you need.
