Her Story
About Pragya
I started my career in technology consulting with IBM for about 3 years. While I was doing that, I was always very interested in how the decisions are made at the top, at the business level, because I was working very much in the silos, being the receiver of those decisions. Having the knack for that and being more strategically aligned intellectually, I pivoted and decided to do my MBA. I joined Indiana University's Kelley School of Business to eventually pivot into management consulting, which is what got me where I am today with Ernst & Young. I am a senior manager in AI Strategy and Transformation, and I've been with the firm for 7 years now. As one of the leaders in the firm in the AI strategy and transformation space, I spend the majority of my time working in the TMT sector (technology, media, entertainment, and telecom). At any given time, I'm helping multiple different clients across different things in their AI journey. For example, I'm currently leading an engagement for a theme park company to help them craft their AI strategy and set up their AI Center of Excellence, which I've been doing with them for the last 2 years. In parallel, I'm helping one of the other telecom companies to stand up their finance modernization initiative, which is also enabled through AI. I also have several other teams internally within EY where I continue to be a thought leader, mentor and train people, and help them upskill so that we can spend time on go-to-market initiatives with different creative offerings.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Pragya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think it's being ambitious and being optimistic. Just believing in myself, and then working hard towards that ambition to make it happen. I'm a big believer of manifestation, so I would definitely say that I got lucky with the opportunities that I did get through my journey, and I also manifested that goal and worked hard towards that to actually make it happen.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say that don't get burdened by the expectations of society, and just be fearless, and believe in yourself, be authentic, and just have a North Star. And people will start following you and your direction once you start approaching that North Star, and you'll be able to rally everyone around that.
