About Pragya
I work at Paxos, a fintech company where things are pretty high stakes in the financial world. We need to have a reliable system, and because this is such a competitive industry, we need to shift pretty fast to stay ahead. We are a very lean team, but we're supporting infrastructure for the blockchain platform that we support here at Paxos. In my role, I own all of the infrastructure required by our product lines, the integration of all these product lines through CI and CD processes, and everything under observability including monitoring and alerting the teams to make sure the systems are reliable. We get ahead in the game and get alerted if there is any issue coming up before it actually happens. We also own developer experience, making sure that the engineers in the company have a smooth experience with all the tooling that we provide. If there are any bottlenecks, issues, or friction that they see, my team helps automate the processes and remove the friction. Basically, we focus on two things: reliability and velocity for the company. I'm a people manager who also comes from technology, and I've been fortunate to build teams from scratch and turn around struggling teams into healthy, high-performing ones.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Nobody's expecting you to know all the answers. The only way you're going to get to the answers is ask questions - ask dumb questions, ask any kind of questions. That would be my one advice. The other one is it's never too late to pivot to whatever you want to get to be doing. We are all exploring here, and as we work in this field, you try and understand where it is that you see yourself growing into. So, don't be afraid to change directions at any time.
