Certified in CPI/AVADE Level III crisis management, she utilizes verbal de-escalation techniques to promote safe, therapeutic environments while minimizing the need for restrictive interventions. Her commitment to delivering high-quality patient care extends beyond behavioral health through cross-training in aesthetics and experience in emergency and primary care settings. She is an active member of the National Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau, reflecting her dedication to professional growth and nursing excellence. Grounded by her faith and guided by compassion, empathy, and sound clinical judgment, Campbell believes that nursing is both a calling and a profession that offers limitless opportunities for growth. She encourages fellow nurses to begin each shift with prayer, value their professional autonomy, and practice meticulous documentation to ensure the highest standards of patient care. While recognizing the challenges nurses often face, including feeling undervalued within the healthcare system, she advocates for innovation, lifelong learning, and entrepreneurship as pathways for nurses to expand their impact beyond traditional bedside roles. Outside of work, Campbell enjoys spending time with her daughter, maintaining an active lifestyle through fitness, and exploring nature parks and hiking trails.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Priscilla
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to God. My faith has been my foundation and source of strength, especially after the recent loss of both of my parents. Through every challenge, I believe God has carried me, giving me the resilience, purpose, and perseverance to continue serving others with compassion.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to pray before every shift, value my autonomy as a nurse, and approach every decision with care and intention. As a nurse, the choices I make directly impact people's lives, so it’s essential to remain thoughtful, accountable, and committed to providing safe, compassionate care.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women entering nursing to trust themselves and their instincts. Always protect yourself through thorough documentation and professional action. Lead with empathy, be intentional in your work, show compassion, and remain strong in difficult situations. Remember that every decision you make matters, so practice with integrity and confidence.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in nursing today is that many nurses feel undervalued, underappreciated, and undercompensated despite the critical role they play in healthcare. At the same time, there are incredible opportunities within the profession. A nursing degree offers flexibility and opens doors beyond bedside care, including leadership, education, specialized practice, entrepreneurship, and many other career paths.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Empathy is one of the values I hold most closely. I strive not to judge others too quickly and to remain humble by recognizing that there is always more to learn. Leading with empathy, maintaining an open mind, and approaching others with humility guide both my professional practice and my personal life.
