Her Story
About Priscilla
I've been an educator for over 25 to 30 years as a college professor. What led me to my current position is basically going to school. I have two master's degrees, one in public administration and one in educational leadership and administration. After that, I decided to go back to school and work on my doctoral degree, all in the field of education. It was a childhood dream for me to be in education. My main area of expertise is community service. I love working with my students beyond the classroom, helping them with issues at home and their career goals. I recently completed and published a book, a memoir, almost 60 days ago.

Ten minutes with Priscilla
01What do you attribute your success to?
I contribute my success to my parents. Both are deceased, but my father was a minister, a Baptist minister, and he was also a college professor, so I kind of followed his steps, and he loved music. My mother was business-minded. She had several businesses going on, so she was in that business aspect, and I contribute the public administration, and I have a bachelor's degree in business, so I contribute that to her.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was the first time I graduated with my bachelor's degree and was moving towards my master's degree. The best advice I received from my chair at that time was to go as far as I wanted to go as far as education was concerned, and I did that.
