Her Story
About Dr. Priscilla
I love working with people and helping them transition from one point in their lives to something they thought they never could achieve. I work closely with executives at the C-suite and leadership level, helping them navigate life transitions and break through what they perceive as glass ceilings to reach the next level of sustainability in their careers. My most notable professional achievement is obtaining my doctorate, which I achieved with honors despite significant obstacles. When my dissertation chair left the institution just as I was about to confer my doctorate, I became distraught and wasn't sure where I would be able to complete it. After careful advisement, I was able to complete my dissertation and move forward. I started off pursuing a PhD and ended up with a DBA. Throughout my journey, I've remained committed to staying centered, focused, and dedicated to what's most important in my life, always putting God first and foremost and maintaining faith as the foundation of my success.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Dr. Priscilla
01What do you attribute your success to?
Spiritually, I attribute my success to putting God first and foremost in my life and having faith, because that is one of the main reasons I've gotten to the place where I am today, from a personal standpoint of view as well as professional. I always do my due diligence to stay centered, focused, and committed to all the things that I know are most important to me in my life.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would ask her, what does she have a passion for? Because once you have a passion and put something into it, you never feel like you work a day in your life because you love what you do. You're not focused on the monetary value - don't get me wrong, we all work to be compensated - but the most gratification is excelling in something that you love doing and helping others. My motto is, each one, teach one, reach back and get one. And never forget where you come from.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
With the ever-changes now with AI and some of the structural impact as it relates to DEI and the environment of where it is now, it's transitioning from how you normally do your work in the workplace. AI and how technology's advanced itself means that in certain instances, you can streamline your processes and get work done in a more timely and efficient manner. But it's also kind of scary, too, to the fact that you wonder, from a human standpoint of view, how that is going to affect employment in the workspace.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are trust, dedication, and effective communication.
