Her Story
About Priyanka
I began my professional journey as a teacher of English literature, working with undergraduate students. This foundation in literature and my passion for working with people led me to transition into education counseling. Since 2023, I have been working with IBP Education, an Australia-based company where I serve as a bridge connecting students with foreign universities. We work with six specific destinations including USA, Canada, Australia, and Ireland. Students come to us looking for particular courses in particular universities, and through our tie-ups and partnerships with universities, I introduce and explain university programs to students and guide them through their applications and the entire visa and immigration processes. I have always been drawn to education because it gives me the opportunity to connect with people one-on-one and sometimes work with groups as well. What truly inspires me is working toward the power of education and how that can help people uplift their careers. Currently, I am also a project management student at Northeastern University, coming from a non-technical background and learning technical skills including AI tools and project management tools like MS Project and Asana.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I think it all boils down to being consistent. Again, as I mentioned earlier, finding what you like doing is the most important thing, and even if you change your mind, there has to be a reason. You cannot just keep changing your mind about what you want to do in life. Basically, giving real thought into what you are doing, and trying to do meaningful work, no matter what domain you work in is very important. That consistency and intentionality in choosing work that is meaningful to you is what drives success.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My best advice for young women who are just getting started would be to upskill yourself, because especially with the new tools that are coming, I am a project management student right now, and coming from a non-technical background, I have had to learn a lot of technical skills, especially AI tools and project management tools like MS Project, Asana, and so on. So, I would say find the actual niche that you want to work for, and find out what tools are used in that domain. Skill yourself, and keep upskilling yourself, even if you have a job and you're happy in your position, because the markets change really fast these days. If you stay on top of your game and are familiar with all the recent tools and technologies that are being used in your industry, that would give you a leg up.
