Quadirah Taylor is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Legislative Organization Valuing Everyone (LOVE), a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based political organization dedicated to strengthening communities through civic engagement, public policy advocacy, and legislative action. With more than 30 years of experience in politics and four years leading her own organization, she is committed to empowering women, minorities, and underserved communities to become active participants in the political process. Through collaboration with legislators, community leaders, and advocacy groups across the political spectrum, she works to promote inclusion, civic participation, affordable healthcare, judicial reform, educational opportunities, and economic stability.
A graduate of Lincoln University, Quadirah earned a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Secondary Education, English, and Child Development in 2001. She further expanded her professional expertise by obtaining certifications in Life Insurance and Artificial Intelligence. Throughout her career, she has served in numerous leadership roles in political organizing, campaign management, voter engagement, and community development, including previous positions with VoteRiders, The Outreach Team, Peduto for Mayor, and American Income Life Insurance Company. She also served as a Board Member of the Learning Disability Association (LDA) for three years, demonstrating her commitment to advocacy beyond the political arena.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Quadirah remains deeply involved in community service and philanthropy. She has volunteered with local food banks, supported the Light of Life Homeless Shelter, participated in fundraising efforts for Autism Speaks, and dedicated nearly a decade to volunteer service with Obama for America. Inspired by her late mother's humanitarian spirit and the trailblazing leadership of women such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Quadirah leads with authenticity, accountability, and honesty. She is passionate about creating opportunities for future generations, encouraging young women to persevere through challenges, embrace their voices, and become impactful leaders in their communities.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Quadirah
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my mother, who was my greatest inspiration and the person who first introduced me to politics. She was a true humanitarian who dedicated her life to enriching the lives of others and making a positive impact in her community. Although I lost her in 2007 at a young age, her legacy continues to guide everything I do. She taught me the importance of service, compassion, and creating opportunities that add value to people's lives. Her example motivates me every day to continue advocating for others and making a meaningful difference in my community.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the most valuable pieces of career advice I ever received came early in my political career while I was volunteering and canvassing neighborhoods. A woman who later became my first supervisor told me, "If you can do this work for free with passion, professionalism, and a smile, then you deserve to be paid for it." She encouraged me to recognize the value of my skills and never underestimate my worth. That advice changed my perspective on my career, and we went on to work together for more than 30 years. It taught me to value my contributions while remaining committed to serving others.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is simple: never give up. Although it may sound cliché, persistence is one of the most important qualities you can have. Politics has traditionally been a challenging environment, particularly for women, and there will be obstacles designed to discourage you. Stay focused on your purpose, continue learning, trust your abilities, and refuse to let setbacks define your future. Your voice matters, and your determination can create lasting change for generations to come.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest challenges in my field is securing funding for initiatives that address real societal issues. Many organizations and projects that focus on meaningful community concerns struggle to obtain financial support unless they align with broader political messaging or agendas. Despite these challenges, I also see tremendous opportunities for growth. Times of uncertainty often create the greatest opportunities for leadership and innovation. Important issues such as voting rights, women's rights, healthcare access, economic stability, and civic engagement continue to shape our communities, creating opportunities for individuals and organizations to lead positive change and strengthen democracy.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my professional and personal life are authenticity, accountability, and honesty. I believe it takes courage to remain true to yourself in a field where people often feel pressure to present a perfect image. I have learned that authenticity does not require perfection—it requires integrity. I believe that when I hold myself accountable for my actions, remain honest about both my successes and mistakes, and stay true to my values, I can build trust, create meaningful relationships, and make a lasting difference in the lives of others.
