Her Story
About Quanetta
I am Q Denise Holt, founder and program director of Carmela Elizabeth Massin Learning Academy, LLC. I am an author, an educator, and creator of the FTOR Math Method. My work focuses on helping learners build strong educational foundations by making difficult concepts easier to understand. I was born with muscular dystrophy, but I have never allowed my physical limitations to determine the size of my purpose or my growth direction. I changed my major from professional cooking to education so I could help my children with their homework and not get lost in the education system. I am a ServSafe instructor and teach life skills like cooking. I have written three books and perform as a comedian while doing radio and media work.

Ten minutes with Quanetta
01What do you attribute your success to?
My relationship with God and trusting Him enough to keep my ears open. Also my upbringing and my maternal ancestral lineage from Ghana.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Get involved ahead of time, whether it's volunteering as an assistant in the classroom. Reach one then teach. Take time to read their IEPs, do research, learn about each student, bond with your students.
