Her Story

About Rabia

Rabia Sami is a career coach who helps professionals from fresh graduates to C-suite executives highlight their career stories through resume design and LinkedIn profile revamps. Educated as a pharmacist with a Pharm D, she draws on her background to serve as a healthcare subject matter expert for clients in that industry while also supporting those in government, IT, finance, and other fields. As a mother of three, Rabia attributes her professional success to the strong will needed to juggle family responsibilities alongside her career. She values honesty and empathy above all, advising others in her field to understand clients' struggles rather than focusing solely on sales. In the current job market, she sees challenges from widespread layoffs and overreliance on AI tools that produce similar candidate profiles, but also opportunities to guide people toward more human-centered coaching approaches. Rabia loves connecting with diverse professionals and shares career advice from her mentors on completing one task at a time and never stopping learning.

Ten minutes with Rabia

01What do you attribute your success to?

Being a mother of three requires juggling hundreds of balls at one time, and despite having three kids and a home, maintaining a professional life takes a lot of will.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One mentor advised to take one task at a time and complete it before moving to the next, which prevents messing up multiple things. Another mentor said to never stop studying, even at any age if the chance arises.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be empathetic about people. Don't pitch services or sell for the sake of selling. Understand where they're coming from and what struggles they're going through, because without that you won't be able to serve them.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include people struggling in the turbulent job market with layoffs, and relying on AI to fix resumes and LinkedIn without human help, leading to similar versions of themselves presented to recruiters. Opportunity exists in guiding people to more human-centered approaches.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and empathy are the most important values. Honesty means not claiming expertise in areas not done, and empathy is crucial both as a mother and to understand clients' job search struggles.
