Her Story

About Rachel

I've always been in agriculture, having farmed and been tied to ag professionally my entire life. I like to be able to showcase and share different aspects of ag in a way that people may not think about it, highlighting all of the different touchpoints our daily lives have in ag and the companies that support us. Since 2007, I've worked as a pork producer. Through Pork Industry News, I create news stories and videos about different things happening in the pork industry, shining a light on positive, influential stories that national news media may not pick up. There's so many different companies in the pork industry beyond just a farmer and his pigs. I also host Pride of Pork on Acres TV, which is more of a storytelling point of view of anything and everything in the pork industry. My Iowa Farm Mama platform really launched me down the path of showcasing farming in a video format. I farm with my brother, raising corn and soybeans in southeast Iowa, and about 5 years ago I started making TikToks. It was fun to show different things about our lives, good or bad, that we are doing here at the farm. It's a different way of connecting with other farmers, other growers, other people in the ag industry that I see at these shows, and it's been a great relationship builder professionally.
