Rachel Gilley
Rachel Gilley is an accomplished entrepreneur, animal behaviorist, and business professional based in Adamsville, Alabama. She is the Founder and President of Gilley’s Paws 4 Pals Rescue, where she combines over two decades of experience in dog rescue with a passion for human-animal connection. Her work focuses on rehabilitating neglected and abandoned dogs while exploring the emotional and energetic bonds between humans and animals. Rachel’s approach emphasizes calm leadership, emotional frequency, and energy awareness, aiming to transform both canine and human behavior.
With a strong academic background in Business Administration and ongoing studies in Psychology, Rachel brings a strategic and compassionate approach to her work. She has studied how dogs assist in recovery from trauma, anxiety, and emotional wounds, particularly among women and children overcoming domestic abuse. Through her rescue organization, she provides a safe, home-based environment where dogs receive personalized care, training, and rehabilitation, many of whom go on to become emotional support companions.
Beyond her work with animals, Rachel has extensive experience in business development and property management. She previously managed over 300 homes, operated restaurants, and worked in veterinary care, blending her entrepreneurial skills with her passion for animal welfare. Rachel’s dedication to animal-assisted therapy, combined with her Christian faith and belief in the healing power of the human-animal bond, underscores her mission: to help survivors find peace, trust, and strength through the unconditional love of animals.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of hands-on experience, life lessons, and formal education. My professional development has been shaped not only by practical, real-world training but also by advanced studies, including an MBA and coursework at Duke University. I place a strong emphasis on continuous learning, and I view my role as one that supports and guides others through challenging situations, helping them navigate obstacles and achieve their goals.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to pursue opportunities with determination while seeking and valuing support from mentors and colleagues. Building a strong network and remaining persistent can make all the difference in achieving your goals.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life include continuous learning, collaboration, and faith. Opening a new location marked a significant milestone for me, as it allowed for specialized animal training and expanded our outreach across multiple states. I have learned so much from my colleagues along the way, and my faith continues to serve as a guiding source of knowledge and direction in everything I do.
