Her Story
About Rachel
I've been in the finance vertical for over 20 years as a broker and account executive. I work with clients and realtors to provide financing so people can buy their dream homes. After witnessing issues during the mortgage meltdown around 2000, I was inspired by new government regulations that protect clients from fraud. Being a woman in this analytical, male-dominated industry, I find it easier to get business on the sales side using emotional intelligence and honesty.

Ten minutes with Rachel
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my father Joseph and the way I was raised. It's important for women to have that foundation, and if not taught at home, we need to teach younger girls those skill sets through community involvement.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's a great niche for women in the mortgage industry. The test is very difficult, statistically as hard as the bar exam, so most women go into processing or underwriting instead of sales. But being a woman makes it easier to get business through emotional intelligence and authenticity. Honesty is the best policy - if it doesn't feel right, don't do it.
