Her Story

About Rachel

A typical day for me is probably speaking to clients, talking about new project briefs, ideating with the client, and then starting this fragrance product development process, creating a fragrance and working on the project timelines. With that, it's brainstorming marketing ideas and trends, helping brands build their storytelling, and then hosting events, hosting different things like Q&As, influencer events, marketing trend presentations - anything to really add to the project and also the relationships with clients. The fun part is once the product launches, it's going to the launch events, helping clients really build their market territory and segmentation into the industry. It's a lot of things, lots of many hats, really being mostly about collaborating and working with my team to really bring fragrance to life. My main areas of expertise are brand partnerships, product development, marketing and trends, business management, and of course, anything beauty, fine fragrance, lifestyle, wellness related. I would say my most notable professional achievement so far is launching iconic fragrances on the market and working with the brands and the founders to bring amazing products to life.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Rachel

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say, I just think, for me, my career is everything, so it's just more so just being able to tackle my goals, and then along the way, always change my goals and just cross things off the list.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say just go for it, no matter how qualified or unqualified you might think you are. If you're nervous to take the leap, I think just take the leap, believe in yourself. You always learn along the way, so you might as well just start where you are and just go for it.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I would say probably the biggest challenge is more so the world challenges, to be honest. I just think, at least in perfumery, natural resources are depleting, and there's just always something new happening. I think in perfumery and fine fragrance, there's a need to have natural quality ingredients. That's definitely one challenge. But I think on the plus side, there's such a big boom with beauty, so I think that's something that's just never going away. I think there's always solutions to keeping this industry alive and keeping the quality that it's always kind of had.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I think, honestly, it's just being true to yourself. Always being able to adapt to change. I think, definitely being hardworking, but also, too, just mindful of yourself and the journey, and I think just being independent and strong-willed.
