Her Interview
Ten minutes with Rachel
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a lot of mindset, and maybe some unreasonable confidence. Even in the Ireland example, I had people laugh in my face and say you're not going to Ireland. It's this absolutely unwavering mindset that I can do this. If I put my mind to it, I'll do it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Be the thermostat, not the thermometer. Walking into a room and leading in that space, bringing the energy you want in that room, not just observing how it is now. It gives me newfound confidence to approach that room like any other day.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Go to spaces where you are valued. Go where you're watered, go where you're valued, and your work will kind of speak for itself. You also have to be proud of your work. You do have to be a little bit selfish sometimes if a role is not serving your development anymore.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Purpose is first and foremost, especially in med tech with clinically differentiated products that help patients. Harmony, having the ability to do different things as your day never looks the same. Who you work with and who you're around, as you mimic the people around you.
