Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my faith in God, which has guided my decisions, strengthened my resilience, and kept me grounded throughout my journey.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was when someone introduced me to building emotional intelligence. It was through my coaching that I met this digital mentor who I'm still friends with. He sent me a free gift about emotional intelligence, and that brought everything together for me. I have to give him his credit - it was divine. That advice about developing emotional intelligence has been key to everything, because I discovered that you need both emotional intelligence congruent with spiritual maturity. Spiritually I was great, but my emotional intelligence was lacking, and once I learned about building that, it just drove everything to get me where I needed to be.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be to make sure that if that's what you're gonna enter, it has to be there - your conviction to add value to others and make a difference in the world. Even if it's not your ultimate destination, it could be part of your development and training. Like I said, I thought I was gonna be an evangelist, but I would be cheating women and girls if I just became an evangelist. What I'm really doing is evangelism incognito.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

My personal challenge is visibility. Once I get visible and get exposure, I know what will happen. I don't doubt that if I get the visibility and exposure, things will take off. So that's my number one challenge, and of course that's gonna take hooking with the right people and, might as well be real about it, finances.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The first value is God. The second is others. That's why I have a conviction - I know there's others there who are struggling, and if I could get help to them, I believe I can make a difference. The value for me is adding value to others. That includes being empathetic with others and having self-awareness. I'm not caught up in all this materialistic stuff, which is fine if that's what people want, but for me, my value is more about relation, connection, and loving, and being part of a family. As long as my basic needs are met, I'm satisfied. The most important thing I've been trying to do is put myself in a position so I can complete the will of God on my life, because I know everything I went through wasn't in vain. I'm doing all I know to do so I could reach those little girls and women who need my voice.
