Her Story

About RaChelle

I’ve spent more than 31 years in the telecommunications industry, with most of my career focused on engineering, planning, and construction. Today, I lead nationwide construction management operations, where my team oversees projects that support network growth, expansion, and customer builds across the country.

While construction operations are a significant part of my role, leadership is what drives me every day. I spend a great deal of my time mentoring others, supporting my leaders by removing obstacles, providing training and career development opportunities, and creating pathways for people to grow and succeed. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career is helping others recognize their potential and achieve goals they may not have thought possible.

What initially drew me to this industry was my passion for the technical side of the business. When I began my career, there were very few women in the field, which only strengthened my determination. I’ve always been motivated by the challenge of proving that limitations others place on you don’t define what you’re capable of achieving.

To me, influence has never been about a title. It’s about creating opportunities for others, building high-performing teams, and making a meaningful impact. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on driving business results while helping people grow, succeed, and see new possibilities for themselves.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with RaChelle

01What do you attribute your success to?

One of the things I value most is learning from others. Every mentoring conversation, coaching moment, or meaningful interaction teaches me something new. I truly believe leadership is a two-way exchange, while I may be guiding or supporting someone else, I’m also gaining perspectives, insights, and experiences that help me grow.

Those interactions shape how I lead, how I connect with people, and ultimately how I

show up as a person. It’s not just about what I give to others; it’s about what I learn from them and how I carry those lessons forward to become a better leader and a better human.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came early in my career: don't listen simply to formulate a response, listen to truly understand. That distinction has stayed with me throughout my professional journey.

When you genuinely hear what someone is saying, you can respond thoughtfully, build stronger relationships, and create a deeper level of trust. It's not about waiting for your turn to speak; it's about being present, understanding different perspectives, and making people feel heard. That advice has shaped not only how I communicate, but also how I lead.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be fearless. Don't let imposter syndrome hold you back, in my view, it doesn't exist. Step into the person you want to become and don't worry about what others might think of your career path or ambitions. Early in my career, there were very few women in this field, and I was often told what I couldn't do. That only motivated me to prove that I could. My advice is to push past self-doubt, trust your abilities, and take ownership of your path.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in the telecom industry right now is the rapid growth in connectivity demand driven by AI, cloud services, data centers, and the increasing need for reliable, high-capacity networks. Organizations are investing heavily in infrastructure, which creates tremendous opportunities for innovation, expansion, and improving the customer experience.

At the same time, one of our biggest challenges is balancing that growth with speed, cost, and resource constraints. The demand for network expansion continues to accelerate, while we navigate supply chain considerations, evolving technologies, workforce development, and the need to deliver projects faster than ever before. Success requires strong collaboration across teams, thoughtful planning, and a willingness to continuously adapt.

For me, it’s an exciting time to be in this industry because we’re helping build the foundation that enables how people connect, work, learn, and do business every day.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

One of the values that has guided me throughout my career is accountability, paired with integrity. I believe in doing what I say I’m going to do and following through on my commitments. It’s about being dependable, taking ownership of outcomes, and staying true to your word. Whether in business or in life, I strive to be someone people can trust and count on, even when challenges arise.
