Her Story
About Rachelle
Rachelle Smith is the Founder and CEO of Freklz Skincare, a natural, kid-focused skincare brand she built after struggling to find safe, fun products her own children actually wanted to use. As a mother of four, Rachelle understood the need firsthand, and she brought together a team of experts, estheticians, and kid-testers to create a line that goes beyond skincare, designed to help children build confidence and embrace themselves, freckles, breakouts, and all. Since launching the company in June 2024, she has remained hands-on in every aspect of the business, from product formulation to marketing, shipping, legal matters, and customer support. Before founding Freklz Skincare, Rachelle built a 20-year career in the direct-to-consumer beauty industry, beginning as a cosmetologist and later earning her permanent makeup certification. She went on to hold senior leadership roles focused on incentives, loyalty, and customer engagement at some of the industry's best-known direct-selling companies, including Norwex USA, Plexus Worldwide, MONAT Global, and Young Living Essential Oils, where she oversaw a loyalty program that generated more than $1 billion in annual revenue and drove a 93% customer retention rate. Along the way, she earned an associate's degree while working full-time, later completing a certificate in social media marketing from Ensign College and being a full-time mom. At the core of Rachelle's work is a commitment to authenticity and self-acceptance. Rather than chasing trends or filtered perfection, she has built Freklz Skincare around the idea that beauty routines should feel like moments of confidence and connection rather than obligation. Staying intentionally small and deeply engaged with her community, Rachelle measures success not by revenue alone, but by the self-assurance her products help young people find. Her guiding philosophy, both in business and in mentoring others entering the industry, is that curiosity, community, and a willingness to ask for help can take you further than credentials alone.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to start by researching your community and identifying where the real needs are, then become the expert in that area. Don't be afraid to lean on other people and ask for help along the way. Seek out the communities and resources that already exist to guide you. You can accomplish anything, even without formal schooling behind you.
