Rae Anne Sharp

Rae Sharp serves as Director of Strategy and Process Quality at Norfolk Southern. With 11 years of experience entirely within the transportation industry at the company, she leads a team of 27 professionals across two primary functions. One side focuses on customer-centric support, handling service inquiries, issue resolution, and network performance monitoring to meet operational needs. The other side drives commercial efforts such as customer onboarding, contract development, technology strategy, and creation of training materials for internal and external stakeholders. Sharp has held diverse roles in revenue accounting, operations, service support, marketing, and customer logistics, which provide her with a well-rounded perspective on business decisions and their impacts. She earned an English degree with a minor in psychology from the University of Mississippi and completed a supply chain leadership course at the University of Tennessee. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Sharp has volunteered with the Everybody Wins program, reading to school children in the Atlanta area for two years, and participates in employee resource group initiatives including building school boxes and writing Christmas cards to veterans. She attributes her success to a mindset instilled by her father of never saying that is not my job, which has enabled continuous learning and growth across roles. Sharp advises young women entering the industry to find their network and seek strong female mentors.
