Her Story
About Raela
Raela Miller serves as Vice President and Branch Manager at Chase Bank, a position she reached after nearly five years in finance. Her professional journey featured diverse experiences in wind and solar, the medical field, and cash management at Loomis, which highlighted her skill with handling money and led to a referral to Chase. Starting as an associate banker, she self-educated on policies and procedures and advanced to branch operations lead before her promotion to branch manager. Miller began with paralegal studies at Stanford Brown intending to attend Duquesne University to become an attorney, later pursued certified nursing assistant training, but ultimately found her fit in finance without a formal business degree. She credits her achievements to her religious faith and prayer, emphasizes values including honesty, compassion, loyalty, and putting family first, and advises setting realistic yet ambitious goals while striving for greatness without allowing others to limit potential. Her next goal is to become a market director within five years.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Raela
01What do you attribute your success to?
I'm somewhat of a religious person, so I give all praise to the Most High, to God. That's who I give all my success to. I wouldn't be anywhere without prayer.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never let anybody box you in, never let anyone make you feel like you can excel and go after what you want, or the timeframe that you set for yourself is not obtainable. Make sure you make realistic goals, but also always strive for those goals that you set for yourself. And then right after you make a goal for yourself, set another goal immediately after, so that that way you always strive for greatness.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is that the world is constantly changing. Things are always changing, policies are always changing, and just staying up with the change. You know, always being one step in front of competitors, one step in front of everything. And just always having to think of new, innovative ways to push forward while the world is moving forward.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, compassion, loyalty, always being honest and truthful to others and yourself, put family first, being empathetic to everyone's situation, never be a selfish person.
