What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous growth. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have consistently sought opportunities to challenge myself, whether through advanced certifications, leadership roles, or complex consulting engagements. I believe that staying focused on long-term goals while remaining open to learning has been instrumental in my development.
I also credit my background in athletics for shaping many of the skills that have contributed to my success. Teamwork, accountability, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure are lessons that continue to guide me in both my personal and professional life.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the best pieces of career advice I’ve ever received is the importance of investing in myself and staying open to growth opportunities. I’ve learned that personal and professional development is an ongoing process, and that progress often comes from consistently showing up, doing the work, and being willing to learn along the way.
Whether it’s pursuing certifications, taking on leadership responsibilities, or stepping outside of my comfort zone, I’ve found that growth happens when I challenge myself and remain open to new experiences.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering accounting, finance, and consulting to have confidence in their abilities and never underestimate the value they bring to the table. Technical expertise is important, but so are communication skills, relationship-building, and leadership capabilities.
I believe success comes from investing in both professional knowledge and personal development. Seeking out mentors, building strong networks, and staying committed to lifelong learning can make a significant difference in long-term career growth.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in accounting and finance right now is the rapid pace of technological change. As new systems, automation tools, and evolving business expectations continue to reshape the industry, professionals are required to adapt and continuously expand their skill sets.
At the same time, I see these changes as a major opportunity. Technology is allowing finance professionals to move beyond traditional reporting functions and step into more strategic advisory roles that directly support business decision-making. I believe the future of the field will belong to those who can combine technical expertise with adaptability, leadership, and strong interpersonal skills.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, accountability, and leadership are the values that guide both my professional and personal life. In my field, where trust and accuracy are essential, I believe maintaining strong ethical standards is critical to building meaningful client relationships and delivering reliable results.
I also place a high value on mentorship and supporting the growth of others. These principles shape how I approach my work each day and have helped me develop as both a trusted advisor and a supportive leader.
