About Raiza

Raiza Arwood is a dynamic sales and business development professional whose career reflects resilience, adaptability, and entrepreneurial drive. Based in Wellington, she has built an impressive reputation in the dental and pharmaceutical sectors by combining relationship-building expertise with hands-on industry knowledge. Although she entered the dental field without a formal background, she immersed herself in continuing education, mentorship, and practical training, eventually becoming a trusted consultant and educator for dental practices. Her ability to modernize offices, support doctors through education and training, and create lasting professional partnerships has made her a respected figure in the industry.

Throughout her career, Raiza has held leadership and territory management roles with organizations such as OraPharma, Align Technology, and Leixir Dental Laboratory Group. She began her journey in a dental laboratory environment, where she successfully helped expand markets across Florida and Puerto Rico while mastering the technical and operational side of dentistry. During her six years as an Invisalign representative with Align Technology, she became known for her consultative approach and ability to connect with doctors and dental teams. Her transition into pharmaceutical sales within the dentistry world further strengthened her expertise in practice education, account management, and strategic growth. Backed by a Bachelor of Science in Business with a specialization in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship from University of Phoenix, she blends corporate leadership with entrepreneurial thinking.

Beyond her corporate achievements, Raiza is also the founder and designer behind the swimwear brand Gigi Zara, where she channels her creativity and passion for fashion into multiple successful collections. A graduate of Centro Moda Lisa Thon, School of Fashion Design, she has balanced entrepreneurship, motherhood, and a demanding corporate career with remarkable determination. She launched her first collection during maternity leave and continued expanding the brand even while facing health challenges during pregnancy, demonstrating her persistence and commitment to growth. Her philosophy centers on organization, consistency, and the power of meaningful relationships, values that continue to guide her success across both the healthcare and fashion industries.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Raiza

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my kids. My first daughter is the reason I push myself so hard. Since I got pregnant with her, everything I do is for them. I was raised by a single mom who worked a lot, and I never traveled until I could pay for it myself. I told myself that I wanted to provide for my kids so that I can travel with them and they can do things that I wasn't able to do. Not to spoil them, but to make them aware of the world. I want them to have culture at a little age, and not ignorance. To get them there, obviously, you have to have money, and I don't want to be overworked when it's the most important time of their age. Right now, they're young and their little brains are developing, and I want to make sure that I'm there. They are my drive for everything. I don't want my kids to think that because I had them, I gave up my passion. Actually, because I had them, I worked three times as hard.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've received is that to be successful, you have to be persistent and not quit. When things are hard and you want to quit, that's when you don't quit. That's because nobody's successful if they give up. Rome was not built in a day, basically. I tell myself that every day because I have a lot of stress in my job and everything, and my husband asks how I do it, and I'm like, Rome wasn't built in a day.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering this industry to stay driven, organized, and committed to their goals. Success comes from consistently accomplishing meaningful tasks each day, even small ones, rather than becoming overwhelmed by the bigger picture. I believe true achievement happens when your motivation comes from within—when you genuinely want something, stay focused, and are willing to follow through with discipline and determination.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is balancing the demands of a corporate career with motherhood. Many workplaces still expect women, especially mothers, to manage everything seamlessly without fully recognizing the personal sacrifices involved. There is often pressure to perform at a consistently high level regardless of family responsibilities, making it challenging to maintain both professional success and personal balance. For many working mothers, succeeding in a corporate environment while raising a family requires resilience, adaptability, and constant dedication.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are faith, family, and strong personal principles. We are a Christ-centered family, and my husband, children, and commitment to church are at the core of everything we do. Over time, especially after having children, I realized the importance of having a strong foundation and clear sense of direction. Those values guide the way I approach life, relationships, and my responsibilities both personally and professionally.
