Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ramya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to empowering more women or young leaders into starting off something new by themselves. It's about leaving behind a footpath of how I have come this far, it wasn't an easy one. The key is the leap of faith that you have in yourself, of taking that first difficult step. I speak to young people and try to motivate them often.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to not get scared of something that is new. Always challenge yourself to do something new and learn. Having the faith of getting into something that you don't know, and taking that first leap, because what makes it look difficult is something that you need to attempt.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's important for people to realize that a lot of people around are there to help you. Be part of a crowd who have the same thinking, which will motivate each other. Being part of a set of people who's looking forward to making something big and leaving a legacy behind.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges have been starting new operations in new regions like Southeast Asia, Middle East or Africa, getting the first leap of faith from a customer in a new country where nobody has been before. Also, being the only lady between the founders has been a challenge, but the trust from others has helped me grow.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty is something that I am very keen about. Also, not to let go of anything, there is no give up. I believe in somebody who is passionate about his dreams and go after it, no matter how easy or difficult that it would be.
